My name is Angela and I’m so happy to have you here.

I’m the whole-food lover, fitness enthusiast, and self-care junkie behind A Serene Pursuit. I’m a proud Latina from Colombia and currently live in Sunrise, FL where on my free time you’ll most likely find me at the beach, doing some kind of physical activity or binge watching my favorite Netflix show.

But let’s start from the beginning…

Growing up as a sporty tomboy, my life revolved around being active. Once I entered my college years, I completely fell off my active-girl grind and was so “busy” with a newfound freedom that I failed to prioritize my health and wellness. During this time, I suffered from severe tendonitis in my hip and dealt with debilitating pain for over a year. Four years later with my health issues seemingly disappearing and the real world at my fingertips, I thankfully caught the workout bug again and rekindled my love for the fit life.

Over time I realized that working out alone was not the solution to my problems. My tendonitis flared up again in my ankles and to make things worse I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. My gym days became a thing of the past and all those years of neglecting my body in college were visibly taking a toll on my health. I knew then that I needed to make a lifestyle change and start nourishing my body from within. Through a journey of trial and error, I took the steps to live a more natural, health-conscious life and take care of my wellness from the inside out. While I am still learning what works best for me and my health, I have been able to reclaim my quality of life through a healthier lifestyle.

The knowledge that I have acquired through my own personal experience inspired me to start A Serene Pursuit. My goal is to share with you what I have learned along the way and I hope to empower you to follow your own pursuit of better health through better living.

A Serene Pursuit is about making mind, body and soul wellness attainable and manageable, while empowering you to live an active and balanced lifestyle. Most importantly, it’s about enjoying the journey to becoming a healthier, happier you.

Being a lazy girl at heart (I like quick & easy!), my approach to health is simple. I’m not a health guru or a dietician, I’m a real girl who’s passionate about living a more health-conscious life. I believe being healthy is a culmination of nourishing the mind, body, and soul. It’s a journey that involves being your best self by listening to your body and being in tune with what works for you. What fuels me may not fuel you in the same way and that’s OK. Through nutrition, self-care, and fitness, we will explore ways to take the steps to living your best possible life.

For me, creating a healthy life that I love includes not restricting myself to all the cherished moments that life has to offer. I don’t beat myself up for taking part in life’s moments that don’t necessarily align with my health goals. This approach gives me a balance between my mind, body, and soul and keeps me going on this serene pursuit of wellness and happiness.
